Letter from the Director
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas entered into a partnership with the national laboratories through the Transmutation Research Program (TRP) . This program aims to establish a world-class program for transmutation technologies, while building core competencies and facilities to promote UNLV's strategic growth goals. The central theme and purpose of this program is to involve UNLV students in research on the economically and environmentally sound refinement of spent nuclear fuel. The long-term goals of this program are to increase the University's research capabilities, attracting students and faculty of the highest caliber, while furthering the national program to address one of the nation's most pressing technological and environmental problems.
