The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) hosted the Nevada Science and Engineering Colloquium on Accelerator-Driven Transmutation Technology on May 8, 2000. University and Community College System of Nevada (UCCSN) faculty and researchers, congressional staffers, and members from a number of local community interest groups were invited to hear 10 leading experts from across the country discuss this technology.  The purpose of the Colloquium was to nurture interest and develop research niches and opportunities in the UCCSN.  The Colloquium was sponsored by the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the UCCSN Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR).
